I have been in the game industry for 10 years now working as a Technical Artist.
I have been involved in many projects through the years with the task of bridging the gap between departments to enable content content to be created as quickly and painlessly as possible. My focus has always been to enable artists and engineers to stay focused on the things that drive they find passionate, removing the daily friction caused by repeated actions like setting up exports for animations or having to manually setup their content in engine to meet engineering or gameplay needs.
These are things they never tell you in school, often brushed over even by most seasoned veterans in production. I have crafted an ability to seek out and find the smallest and seemingly insignificant points of friction in the development process and how snuff them out. Amounting in what is often days or weeks of saved production time and immeasurable reduction of stress on the part of artists or engineers.
Now, I want to share it with you!
I want to work with you in order to improve both your production speed, but also anyone else that is having trouble they may not even be aware of!
I’m talking about optimizing things like, exporting models or animations, creating naming conventions for large amounts of assets, creating folder structures aimed at ease of discovery and even creating tools in whatever artist’s choice of software happens to be. But i’m not just talking about giving you a bunch of script files for you to pour over, I am talking about the larger concepts of it all. How to sniff out your own problems and start to figure it out yourself.
